Connecting your WisePOSE Card reader

It just takes a few minutes to connect your new card reader. Let's walk through the steps:

1. Insert the battery and charge the reader

When you first receive the device, install the battery:

  • With the back of the device facing you, lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover.

  • Insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned.

  • After the battery is in place, charge the reader by using an outlet or the optional ethernet dock.

  • Connect the reader to power by plugging the provided cable into the port with the lightning bolt symbol. You can also charge the reader using the USB-C port.

  • After the reader is fully charged, hold down the power button on the right hand side until the screen turns on.

Note

Even when it’s not in use, leave the BBPOS WisePOS E plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates. With a full charge, you can expect the battery to last about eight hours.

2. Connect the reader to your network

To use the card reader we have to connect it to your local wifi network.

Usually when the card reader starts for the first time it will automatically ask you for the wifi connection details.

If it does not automatically connect to your wifi you can open the wifi connections settings by:

  • Swiping right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a Settings button.

  • Tap the Settings button

  • Enter the admin PIN 07139.

  • Selecting WiFi settings

  • Choose the wifi network and tap connect.

Your WiFi network must be password protected, the BBPOS WisePOS E does not support non-password-protected networks.

3. Connect the reader to your salonMonster account

Now that your reader is connected to your network, we can connect it to your salonMonster account.

In your salonMonster account:

  • go to "Settings"

  • go to "Payment processing"

  • click "Connect a card reader"

  • click "Register a new card reader"

On your card reader:

  • The first time the card reader is connected it will automatically show your a "Pairing code" to register the readers. If it does not:

    • Swipe from left to right to show the settings menu (if not already open)

    • Tap the Settings button and enter the admin PIN 07139

    • Tap "Generate pairing code"

Return to the salonMonster app, then:

Type the generated pairing code into your salonMonster account

Click the "Register card reader" button to complete the process

Your card reader should now be connected and you can accept payments through it.
