Setting Up Services

This article will show you how to set up and customize your services in your salonMonster account.

Updated over a year ago

Open your service settings:

Navigate to your Service settings: Open your salonMonster app and select "Settings" from the main navigation menu:

Select the "Services" option:

Create a service category:

Create a New Category: Select the "+ New Category" option to create a new category (or you can reuse an existing category and skip this step).

Name this category (in our example we use "Haircuts1").

Select the "Save" option to save the new category.

Create a new Service:

Select the "+ New Service" option to create a new service.

Name your service (e.g., "New Haircut").

Add a Description: Provide details about the service.

Set how your prices will display: Decide if you want to display the price as "starting at", eg. "starting at $75.00". This is useful for variable pricing.

If the service is provided by you alone, enable the option for yourself. This means only you will be available to provide this service.

Staff Configuration: If you have more than one staff member, you can set their prices and service durations.

Set the service duration: Each staff member can have a different duration for a service. You can have either just a simple single duration for a service, eg 60 mins, or you can create a "bookback" or "split appointment". With a bookback you can set 3 durations:

  • Start duration: During which you can apply a client's colour

  • Processing duration: For the client's colour to process, during which you can work with another client (this time will be available to book another appointment in).

  • Finishing duration: When you can rinse out he colour and finish the cut

Assign the service to a Category: Choose the appropriate category for your service.

Save Your Settings: Once you've configured the details, save your changes.

Confirmation: After saving, your new service (eg "New Haircut") will be available under the category (eg. "Haircuts1") for you to book.
